Francis Financial President and CEO Stacy Francis was invited to share her financial planning expertise on the podcast Love Me or Leave Me, a show about “filling in the gaps of our relationships, the deeply personal choices we make for our families and ourselves, and the impact our actions have on the rest of our lives”.
Speaking with hosts Meredith Shirey & Isaiah Vallejo-Juste, Francis “breaks down in plain terms what it means to be financially responsible and accountable, and what it takes to secure your financial future, married or divorced”.
Francis shares her personal connection with financial abuse, how it spurred her to become a financial advisor, and how it motivated her to create her own financial non-profit for women, Savvy Ladies. She introduces the idea of “money dates” and other strategies that have helped her successfully navigate the financial waters of her own relationship.
Francis also speaks on how the typical division of labor when it comes to household finances is a detriment to women and highlights the importance of women becoming equally responsible through financial literacy. “This is one of those things where you can’t delegate to your husband. You can’t tell your husband to go work out at the gym for you. It doesn’t work,” Francis jokes.
Other highlights of the podcast include suggestions on how to organize financial information to gain a greater sense of understanding and control, what role a certified divorce financial analyst plays in the divorce process, plus much more.
